Together as a family: Working hand in hand to create unforgettable experiences
At Monte do Álamo, every detail reflects the passion and dedication of a family that has lovingly cared for this land for generations. We work together to preserve the essence of rural life while offering our guests the comfort and authenticity that make each stay truly unique. Here, the family spirit is present in every corner: in the warm welcome, the stories shared at the table, and the carefully crafted experiences designed to connect people, nature, and culture. More than just a destination, we aspire to be an unforgettable memory, created together, as a family.
Rosário
Maria do Rosário is the heart of Monte do Álamo. Born in Lisbon but deeply connected to her roots in the Algarve and Alentejo, she chose Tavira, her father’s hometown, as the perfect place to build her family and life.
After a successful career, including roles at the Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency and 12 years as an Executive Administrator managing over 130 employees, Maria do Rosário sought a simpler, more fulfilling life. This inspired her to restore a family farm and transform it into a cherished family project with her daughters, Monte do Álamo.
Fluent in English and French, she has expanded her expertise with courses in tourism, public service, and sustainability. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cycling through the Algarve, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren—embodying her love for family, nature, and the region's traditions.

Inês
Inês is Rosário’s eldest daughter. Growing up on a farm in Tavira, she developed a deep love for animals, which inspired her to pursue a degree in Veterinary Medicine.
After 15 years as a veterinarian in Lisbon and Madrid, she returned to her roots in 2018 to embrace her passion for cooking, joining Monte do Álamo to lead its F&B operations. Recently, she took on the role of General Manager, bringing her expertise and enthusiasm to every aspect of the operation.
In 2021, Inês co-founded Al-Bio, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture tailored to the unique environment of the Algarve.
When she’s not advocating for agroecology, you can find her cooking, surfing, traveling, or tending to the farm and its furry residents. Her joy for life and passion for sharing flavors shine through in everything she does!

Mariana
Mariana, the younger daughter of Maria do Rosário, holds a degree in Business Management and has been one of the driving forces behind the revival of Monte do Álamo’s agricultural heritage.
After spending 12 years in Mozambique, Mariana recently returned to Portugal to immerse herself fully in the family project. While abroad, she remained closely connected to Monte do Álamo, contributing remotely to its growth and development. In Mozambique, she built a career in hospitality, including as Commercial Director of Hotel Meliá in Maputo, Mozambique's first property of the international hotel chain Meliá Hotels.
A certified freediving instructor with a passion for marine life and traveling, Mariana combines her adventurous spirit with her professional expertise. Since her return, Mariana has continued to bring her vision and dedication to this cherished family project.

Luis
Born and raised in Madrid, Luis found the second home of his heart when he met Inês and fell in love with Portugal.
At Monte do Álamo, Luis wears many hats, overseeing both our agriculture and maintenance departments. With a background in sports as a professional basketball player in Spain, Luis also shares his passion as a CrossFit instructor, specialising in functional training, available to our guests.
Whether tending to our thriving orchard and vegetable garden or ensuring everything is perfect for our visitors, Luis’s dedication to excellence shines brightly in all he does. Outside of his duties, Luís loves surfing and producing music, adding his unique talents to the rhythm of our special retreat.

Canela & Chencho
Our furry friends have been part of the Monte do Álamo family for over a decade. They love morning walks, relaxing in the sun, and chasing rabbits when they get the chance. Their calm and friendly nature brings a special warmth to the farm, and guests often find comfort in their company, making them a beloved part of the experience at Monte do Álamo.
