Yoga and Ayurvedic Food Retreat | 1 - 4 May 2026
Between the sea and the hills, in the peaceful setting of Monte do Álamo, we invite you to experience a conscious pause and meaningful reconnection.
Join us for a deeply nourishing weekend that weaves together yoga, Ayurvedic wisdom, and hands-on cooking with fresh, local ingredients in a beautiful farm setting.
We welcome Rita Date, founder of The Breathing Room and an experienced Yoga and Nutrition Coach from India (with roots in Boston), together with Sarita Bhagwat, a Culinary Instructor and Chef from Boston with Indian roots.
Together, they will guide us through a thoughtful journey of movement, mindfulness, and flavour, set against the peaceful beauty of Monte do Álamo overlooking the ocean and Tavira.

Each day flows with nature’s rhythm: energising morning movement, pranayama (breathwork) before meals, and gentle, restorative evening practices.
You’ll learn to prepare simple, healing dishes, understand how to support your digestion and metabolism, and leave with practical tools to integrate into daily life.
There will also be free time to simply rest, book a massage, or explore the peaceful surroundings and nearby coastline.
This program is available as a 3-day retreat, 2-day retreat, or Day Retreat, with or without accommodation at Monte do Álamo, allowing you to join in the way that suits you best.
This retreat is designed as a true seasonal reset.A time to slow down, breathe deeply, care for your body, and nourish your mind.Surrounded by nature and overlooking the ocean, away from the rush of daily life, we create the space to restore energy, find balance, and simply be.
This retreat gently weaves Ayurvedic wisdom into daily yoga practice, aligning movement and breath with the body’s natural rhythms.
Morning sessions are designed to awaken energy, stimulate digestion, and create mental clarity before breakfast.
Around midday, gentle movement and specific breathing techniques prepare the body for optimal digestion and nutrient absorption.
As the day winds down, restorative practices, meditation, and Yoga Nidra help release accumulated stress and guide the body into deep rest and repair.
Throughout the experience, pranayama (breathwork) plays a central role. Different breathing techniques are used at different times of day to energize, balance, or calm the system.

You may join this retreat as a 3-day, 2-day, or Day Retreat, choosing the rhythm that feels right for you, whether immersing yourself fully or stepping in for part of the journey.
Each experience includes daily yoga sessions, Ayurvedic cooking classes, guided meditation, and nourishing, wholesome lunches and dinners prepared with care and intention.
There is the possibility of staying comfortably at Monte do Álamo, where comfortable rooms, beautiful gardens and natural surroundings, and stunning views over Tavira and the ocean create a natural extension of the practice.
Singles and couples are welcome, with single occupancy supplements available.
Set in the quiet beauty of the Algarve countryside, this is a rare opportunity to experience authentic Ayurvedic wisdom and yoga guided by experienced facilitators from Boston with roots in India.
